When Barack Obama was elected President, I, like most people, was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and wish him well.
After all, he would be sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution, and no US president had ever strayed far from generally accepted constitutional behavior — including unwritten customs and traditions.
During the lame duck period, while he was awaiting to be sworn into office, I was optimistic and soothed by conservative experts that were often featured in his pre-inauguration publicity.

Many Americans see Obama as cold, arrogant, and didactic.
Relying on a backward vision of history, from which we all suffer, I expected that, once in office, Obama would move to the center — center left perhaps — but still within the constraints of the US Constitution and the expectations of the majority of Americans. Like Lyndon Johnson or Jimmy Carter, perhaps, but certainly not like Hugo Chaves or Fidel Castro.
After the first hundred days, troubling signs began to appear, many of which could be written off to a simple lack of executive experience. See: President Obama and the Lincoln Bible.
By September 2009, more serious doubts began to form. See: Barack Obama, the last US President.

The only difference between a Marxist and a Progressive is the speed he wants to introduce radical change.
Finally, after a year in office, the election of Republican Senator Scott Brown from Massachusetts, many hundreds of Obama speeches, and rapid declining public approval of his programs and performance, and with the rise of the Tea Party Movement showing an angry and disturbed electorate, a different picture of Obama has emerged — that of a dedicated Marxist standing at the helm of the most powerful nation on earth, bent on implementing radical programs — with or without the consent of the governed.
In this context, his past and present close associations with communists, Marxists, and extreme socialists take on a new significance. These contacts were not mere chance encounters, but rather strong indications of who Obama is and, in the light of his comportment in office, why he wanted to obtain the power of the US Presidency.
Obama at ramming speed
President Barack Obama indicated in the ‘Healthcare Summit’ on February 25, 2010, that he wants to ram through a massively unpopular health care bill, a measure that will effect the lives of every citizen and the finances of the country for generations, even if this costs fellow Democrats in Congress their jobs in the November election.

No 'itsy bitsy spider' crap for Speaker Pelosi.
As this is being written, Obama is trying exactly to do that. Nancy Pelosi is breaking arms of vassal Democrats. Many pundits think he will be successful, showing the low esteem most have for Congress.
Obama is willing to sacrifice control of the House of Representatives and the political careers of faithful Democrats, as long as Republicans do not gain a veto-proof majority in the Senate.
Limits on democracy
In November 2010, all members of the House of Representatives are up for reelection.

Obama trying to sell national health care to Congress. The American people didn't buy it, whatever Congress thought.
However only 36 of 100 senators will have their positions at risk from an angry electorate.
It takes a two-third vote of the Senate to over-ride a presidential veto or to remove a president from office on an impeachment vote.
The Republicans now have 41 senators. In order to have enough votes to remove Obama from office in an impeachment court, they would need to hold on to 41 seats and add 26 of the 36 seats up for election.
It takes two-thirds of both the House and the Senate to override a presidential veto. Impeachment requires a simple majority of the House and two-thirds of the Senate.
Why Obama will continue to reign
Obama knows that he can rely on gerrymandered ’safe’ districts and brute force of union and community organizers to keep most Democrats in office, despite the public outrage and his own unpopularity.

Whatever Obama is planning, he's keeping it to himself. Obama's most frequent visitor has been union leader Andy Stern who believes that trade unions should set national policy and that capitalism does not work.
He also knows that even should Democrats lose control of both houses of Congress, he can still jam through radical, unpopular legislation in the lame duck session of Congress, before a Republican Congress is sworn in.
Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will be able to offer all sorts of bribes and benefices to defeated legislators to give Obama all the money and power he will need to fund his civilian army and other radical projects.
After all, a representative from Podunk, USA, cast out by the voters, unemployed and broke, would be sorely tempted not to accept a fifty million dollar bribe disguised as funding for a company owned by his wife or son.
In the Senate, Obama knows that it will be hard enough for Republicans to win a simple majority or a super-majority, much less a two-third majority.

The impeachment trial of President Andrew Johnson in 1868,
Even if, by some miracle, the magic number of 67 opposition senators should be attained, Obama may still hope to count on liberal Republicans like Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe to keep him in office should a bill of impeachment be brought by the House of Representatives.
The only way to stop Obama from destroying the American economy and implanting the ‘radical change’ that he has promised, would be to have both control of the House and a two-third majority of the Senate.
However, many incumbent Republicans are as guilty of pork barrel spending as the Democrats, although perhaps on not as large a scale. If the people want to turn them all out, won’t Barack Obama be even stronger?
The outcome of the 2010 election is hard to predict.
Waiting for 2012
With a trillion dollar war chest of approved funding from the 2009 ’stimulus’ bill, with the massive funding and hidden ‘goodies’ of the unread Obamacare bill, and — even if the Republicans win in November — with whatever extra billions he is able to gather in a lame duck session, Obama will be in a position to rule like a king for the rest of his term — with or without the advice and consent of Congress.
With the money and power and total lack of scruples, he can do enormous damage from 2010 to 2012.

Where will the generals stand if Professor Panarin's civil war comes to be? They've sworn to uphold the Constitution, not a blood oath to the President.
Even if Obama violates every provision of the Bill of Rights and sends his ‘civilian militia’ into American towns and villages to ‘promote civil harmony’, Congress will be able to do nothing without a two-third majority in the Senate. Even the Supreme Court can do nothing, because the powers of enforcement are with the executive branch — Barack Obama.
American democracy depends upon elected officials that follow the Constitution and that bend to the will of the majority of the people. However, the Constitution has loopholes that can be exploited by a determined Marxist who doesn’t care about being reelected. The evidence is now rapidly building that Obama is such a man.
Obama has already said he doesn’t care about a second term. One wonders why. Perhaps he has some higher, more powerful office in mind — under a radically ‘reformed’ American government? He has already said that he feels that the US Constitution is a flawed document.

The Battle of Antietam, American Civil War. Is this what Obama was thinking of when he asked to be sworn in on the Lincoln Bible?
Unless the Republicans and Tea Party Movement — and any Democrats that still put country over party — wake up to the real threat to the nation posed by Barack Obama, the United States is in grave danger.
Professor Panarin’s prediction of civil war in 2010 may not be so far off the mark, after all.
Most Americans do not realize how fragile their democracy is.

Backward vision
All of us are hampered by backward vision. No US president has ever posed such a threat as herein described — surely Obama is no different.
It can’t happen here. Or can it?
He’s just another corrupt politician from Chicago — isn’t he?
But think back. Who would have thought that a black American, with absolutely no executive experience and a Muslim name, no extensive background check by the media, and with radical connections and left-wing mentors could ever have been elected president?
I hope I am wrong and reading too much in Obama’s actions so far.
Maybe everything is OK. Maybe we have nothing to worry about.
However, there is no question that the uncertainties that Barack Obama brings to the United States make long-term investment in the capital market more difficult.
