In mid-March 2010, the Capital Market Wiki host server experienced a severe technical breakdown, which wiped out not only the wiki database, but also the server backup files.
I have a backup for the wiki database, but it will take time to transfer the wiki to another server.
I’ve spent over two years on this project and do not intend to abandon it at this point. However, I do need help.
Inquiries and encouragement are appreciated.
The wiki project
The Capital Market Wiki project is in proof of concept phase, which is scheduled to last for a least five years. The March 2010 server breakdown, while severe, will, I hope, not be permanent.
This project is designed to be supported entirely by volunteers. Articles on this blog describe the basic concepts of the project.
See:
For this project to be successful, volunteers will be required in the following areas:
- Educators: Professors and teachers of finance, economics, and business who are willing to contribute to the project with ideas and by using the collaborative research templates in classroom assignments
- Students who are interested in security analysis or financial economics, who could be instrumental in bringing this project to the attention of their teachers, or who would be willing to volunteers as researchers and contributors to the project.
- IT specialists: People with a background in PHP, MediaWiki, perl, and server side organization of large scale wiki projects and who would be willing to join the project on a volunteer basis.
If you would like to consider volunteering in this project, please contact me using the following form.
Any amount of effort, large or small, will be most useful and highly appreciated. You can be a volunteer from any place on earth, as long as you have computer access.
