Reading time: 3 – 4 minutes
Every article on this blog is open for comments for an indefinite period. Whether you are a student of finance, just starting your career, or a retired pro, like me, sharing life experiences, or a teacher of finance, or investor, or an active professional still in the daily struggle — your comments are welcome.
The revised format for this blog, launched in 2010, makes it easier for you to register your opinion and join in the discussion.
Some recent comments are highlighted in the right sidebar.
Comments are most welcome.
Linking to your site is OK
You can put a link to your own blog in the ‘website’ field of the ‘Leave a Reply’ form.
If your comment is substantive, relevant, within-the-rules, and non-spam, the link will stay and may help drive traffic to your site.
You can make your link more visible beyond this blog by using the social bookmarks at the bottom of the article or excerpt.
Comment guidelines
Guidelines for comments are simple:
- Comments should be relevant;
- Don’t write a book (limit 3000 characters);
- No spam, flaming, hate-speech, or extreme anti-social behavior. (However, criticism of an article is OK.)
Sometimes, articles generate such intense feeling among readers that these guidelines are violated and I am faced with the choice of zapping the comment or including it. When the intensity of the comment helps to explain or illustrate the highly controversial nature of a topic, I may allow the comment, although perhaps censored, or, in the case of wild ramblings, shortened.
Examples of highly controversial topics where I have allowed these guidelines to be loosened are the article on possible war between Israel and Iran, and the article on deportation of illegal immigrants. Emotion, misspelling, and bad grammar help to highlight the nature of the controversy and the participants.
Please comment freely
Please correct, add to, criticize, object to, or praise the articles in this blog, as you see fit.
If an article is not clear about some point, please let me know.
If an article raises a question, tell me in a comment. I may be able to respond on the spot, or your question may be the seed for a new article.
I encourage and do not suppress critical comments.
You can use the ‘reply’ button to respond to comments of others.
Articles may be modified
If you find some glaring (or even minor) error in an article, please tell me. I’ll correct the error and leave your comment, with a thank you.
If I don’t agree, I’ll reply and say why.
Anti-spam measures
Comments are filtered for spam by the Akismet service. Spam on the Internet nowadays is a serious problem and requires automated measures to make a blog manageable.
Sometimes, a legitimate comment may be zapped by Akismet. Please contact me, if this happens to you.
Because some spam gets through the Akismet filter and because I want to be able to reply promptly, if required, I take a look at each comment before publishing it on the blog.
